HC, Hayden Chamberlain, has been mad keen on surfing for over 20 years and shaping boards for almost as long. “I moved from Dargaville when I was 17 to work for Fresh Squeezed in Piha. All I wanted to do was shape surfboards and I’ve been doing it ever since.“

After mastering the intricacies of designing, shaping, and building boards during stints in all the big Auckland factories: Hot Buttered, Razor, and Primal, HC set out on his own, initially in West Auckland. These days he’s based in Ruakākā, Northland, running the Surfline factory with legend NZ shaper, Roger Hall. Hayden loves working on new designs, having an idea, then making a board that performs as he envisioned. His shapes are regularly under the feet of New Zealand’s top surfers but Hayden is just as keen to help everyday surfers get better. “The biggest amp is working with customers to make a board that will improve their surfing, no matter their level.”
